Why Physical Restraint?
If you’re looking for a new approach to wildlife capture, one that does not involve sedating the animal(s) in question, it’s time to consider physical restraint. There are many reasons as to why physical restraint is safer – for both the animal(s) and the handler -, faster and more cost effective. Here are six reasons why you should consider physical restraint with the use of one of our quality tools.
IT’S EFFECTIVE

For the Animal: Physical restraint does not interfere with the physiology of an animal the way chemical immobilization does. Animals can be hobbled and blindfolded to calm them during handling, without disrupting the important processes of digestion, respiration or thermoregulation.
For the Handler: Physical restraint is also safer for technicians. Chemical immobilization drugs are federally controlled substances. Sedating or “darting” animals introduces a host of dangers to the animal, the handler and the community.
COST EFFECTIVE
Multiple animals, flocks, even large herds can be captured at the same time. Darting or trapping usually focuses on one animal or one location. Netting, rather than conventional trapping, allows the handler to select only those individuals they want to capture.
